When I was a kid, I always used to draw comics of a little walrus character. Whenever it was Easter, I’d always make a special comic of this walrus dressed up as the Easter bunny. I called him the “Easter Beaster”–he’s a harmless cutie who’s super excited to take on the duties of the Easter bunny but is so clumsy that he usually breaks the eggs he sets out to deliver on accident ( he always managed to fix them up though). I felt like drawing this jolly little fellow today since it’s Easter.
I wish you and your families all the best for a happy, joyous Easter with friends and family! We hope you’re all enjoying the spring time season and I look forward to sharing some exciting news next post!
I typically try to do some warm-up sketches and drawings everyday in the morning. Today I thought it would be a lot of fun to draw some characters from Big Hero 6. I’ve been especially inspired from the concept art book, which is absolutely gorgeous.
Here’s what I came up with earlier today. They were particularly fun as I got to fuse my love for color with my love for drawing fun active poses ( save for the Hiro and Baymax one).
Since it was Chinese New Year yesterday, and since we’re all happily living in the future, I thought I’d work on a fun character design sketch as a little break from my comic-projects and painting projects ( See here ). So 2015 is the year of the goat/ram/sheep (assorted hooved creatures that go “baaah”) and since 2015 is the also year that we seriously ought to have hover-boards by now, I thought it might be fun to mix up a little Back to the Future 2 with this year’s honorary creature of the Chinese zodiac.
Hence I bring you my character design of Marty McShy ( He’s shy because he’s sheepish, get it?! Okay…. I’m so sorrynotsorry)
